This weekend, we will travel to the Liberty,
IL area for the 3rd Annual Smith Family Reunion. Like 2004, we plan to
camp amongst dense
tall pines in the Pine
Grove Tent & Trailer camping loop in nearby Siloam Springs
State Park. Bobby and Dorothy may also camp with us.

Liberty
Liberty,
IL is a very small town just east of Quincy in west central Illinois. It
has a population of 519
and covers just less than a half square mile. There is a nice park in
the center of town with a playground and a pavilion. The reunion was held
in this park. We chose the Siloam Springs State Park to camp in due to its
close proximity to Liberty - about 12 miles north east.
Like last year, on the way home, we plan to stop in Griggsville, IL (Purple Martin capital of the nation!) to eat lunch at the Purple Martin Restaurant. We had the buffet last year but we watched others eating pork tenderloin sandwiches and oh my gosh - those things were huge! They pound them out and bread them on-site and I am not exaggerating, they were a foot long and probably 8 inches wide. I have never seen a pork tenderloin pounded out that big and it was still a half inch thick! We are definitely having one of these this year! Pictures to follow!.
