Trip to Fort Dodge, IA
June 4-6, 2004

This weekend, we traveled to Fort Dodge, Iowa.  This is my hometown and my mother still lives here.  Fort Dodge's annual Frontier Days celebration is held this first weekend in June.  We camped at Kennedy Lake, just outside of town.  We attended the parade, had a huge picnic with friends and family at my mom's and attended other Frontier Days events at the Fort.  Four of my 5 kids came down from MN to visit as well..

Campground
Kennedy Lake is the closest campground to Fort Dodge, located just North of town, just past the airport.  As a young child and even as a teenager, I remember going here to swim in the lake with friends and even having picnics with family at the picnic shelters.

Kennedy Lake's campground offers x individual campsites.  The sites and areas break down as follows:

- xx RV full-hookups ($xx)
- xx RV water/electric hookups ($xx)
- xx RV electric only hookups ($xx)
- xx Tent electric only hookups ($xx)
-   x Tent areas with electric only hookups ($xx)
- xx Tent areas with no hookups ($xx)

The campground covers about x acres.  The rest of Kennedy Park surrounding the lake and campground offer several picnic shelters, a boat launch, hiking trails and open spaces for outdoor activities.
