Broccoli Salad
Dressing
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons vinegar
Salad
- 3 pounds fresh broccoli flowerettes, washed and cut into bite-size pieces
- 10 strips bacon, fried and crumbled
- 1 small red onion diced fine (about 1/2 cup)
- 1/2 cup pecan pieces or raisins
Steps
- Prepare 1 day ahead. Combine dressing ingredients, blend well, cover and refrigerate
overnight
- Combine salad ingredients in large serving bowl
- Two or three hours before serving, add dressing to salad and mix well. Cover and
refrigerate until ready to serve
Notes
- When I first tried this salad, it was made without the bacon and was very good. Consider
trying it with fat free mayonnaise and no bacon to cut out nearly all the fat and
cholesterol (small amount in nuts).
