Below is my Mobile Internet Solution |
| |
|
Current configuration: Wanting a more robust and
faster connection as my primary means of Internet connectivity, I
moved to an EV-DO cellular protocol AirCard and a mobile router/WAP
- details below. |
| |
|
Previous configuration: I am now using a
Xenarc Technologies Mobile PC
in my truck. At this time, I connect to the Internet using open public Wi-Fi networks and by using my Treo650 Smartphone as a wireless
modem. I've been experiencing inconsistent usability of
Proxim and Buffalo Wi-Fi cards in the PC card slot of my Xenarc
PC. |
| |
|
Potential: With an always-on, speedier Internet
connection, I have added an IP camera, I upload GPS coordinates
to an omline Google map and I have web and email capability. |
| |
|
Current research: I am considering a camera upgrade
and I am looking at higher-end IP based units. |
