What is a Car PC?

Well, as its name infers, it is a car computer or a mobile PC. In my research, Car PCs can be laptops, small desktops, in-dash, shoe-box, other portables and maybe even other form factors and designs.

What are they used for?

Law Enforcement use them as portable data terminals to retrieve vehicle records, driving histories, wants and warrants etc.

Travelers frequently use them for GPS route planning, mapping and navigation.
